4th of July OOTD!

Everyone has that one special day a year, their birthday! Today is a huge birthday for our whole country, because it is in fact our country’s birthday: better known as the 4th of July. What are you guys doing to celebrate this thirsty monday? I’m off to a party and fireworks and a sleepover on my friends lake. Yet just like everything, we must party it up in style! Obviously, the three colors that will be prominent in the festivities today are red, white, and blue. These colors can easily be incorporated in numerous outfits in many ways. For example, a white sundress with a blue bandana headband with red gladiators or sperrys. Right now is the time to be creative with petite accents.

Now, for the OOTD for the 4th of July!

Here is me in an easy and stylish outfit that could be sported on the beach or a cookout under the fireworks (or both!) There are also many elements of the outfits that could be changed or eliminated to your liking. I am wearing the ultra-popular sailor blue stripes in a tank top from Hollister I got last year, only about $15. These are paired with a pair of high waisted khaki shorts from American Eagle and a brown belt. Either of these peices could be found easily anywhere else, such as express, J. Crew, or Iguana. I’m wearing two necklaces, the red one I purchased at a flea market and the owl one is from PacSun. Lastly, a removable touch is a red flower in my hair from Claires.

I used the flower clip to pin down the “braid headband” I made with my own hair, as you can see here. You could also wear green or khaki shorts with a white rope belt. The rope belt would imitate the hair. Wear the shorts with a red striped top and a blue flower or keep the top and flower the same. So on this fourth have fun with little details, and be safe!
