No, I don’t mean department stores such as Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom, either. There is a certain myth that outlaws stores such as JC Penny, Macy’s, Sears, and more. I am here to say to no longer panic when the sales clerk says, “you could try sears.” (Anyone get the Mean Girls reference?) No.. okay. Anyways, this weekend I found a perfect pair of Steve Madden Cardigan Uggs for only 30 dollars at Macy’s! I have already mentioned these two posts ago, so scroll down to see them.
Another perk of department stores is that they often serve somewhat as outlets. They often carry Polo Ralph Lauren, Liz Claireborne, Calvin Klein, and more. The quality and style can be just as good as the real deal if you look hard enough. I found this absolutely gorgeous and perfect LBD at the same Macy’s. It cost $100, but I plan on wearing it on Christmas Eve as well as a sweet 16 i’m attending soon.

Looking like you’ve just come from a shopping spree in Milan doesn’t necessarily mean you need to actually do it. Look at this lace top and ballet flats I recently bought.

Before peeking at the tags in the shoe, take a minute to guess where I bought them. Would you ever guess PacSun and Payless? Couture hides in the unsuspecting stores of your very own mall! When I go shopping, I often have a few looks in mind that I want to achieve. Buy clothes for those looks but make sure the pieces are versatile, so they can translate to virtually any outfit and can be worn many different ways. Why does it seem thrift-store scavengers are so proud yet we hide our face when sporting a sweatshirt from old navy? Think of the piece of clothing above what store you got it at.
